MEXICAN POPULAR ART IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Through organising an ambitious project Roche Bobois has put Mexican popular art in the spotlight, bringing together traditional expertise with contemporary creations.

Several dozen talented craftspeople, coming from different states in Mexico and all masters of weaving, braiding or sewing, were invited to express their creativity on four different pieces: the Loop and Ava chairs, along with the Lully and Florian armchairs.

The result of this unprecedented collaboration? 35 original creations were produced and presented at the grand opening of the exhibition, titled “L’artesania de vivir”, which took place on the 24th November in Mexico City, at the prestigious Alcazar del Castillo Chapultepec.

This travelling exhibition will make stops in several cities through Mexico before being welcomed to the USA and then Europe.
