Dai Sugasawa

A passionate and versatile Japanese designer, Dai Sugasawa founded his studio in Paris in 2010. A frequent collaborator of world‑renowned designer Philippe Starck, he has since developed countless projects ranging from perfume bottles and bathroom environments to fashion accessories, tableware, and even high‑tech products. But it is in furniture design that his expressive talent truly stands out. Constantly seeking balance between functionality and aesthetics, he collaborated with Roche Bobois to create the Lan and Niwa coffee table collections — pieces defined by sensitivity, material harmony, and nuanced character. His creativity draws equally from nature and from the fusion of his two cultural worlds: Japan, his homeland, and France, the country of “l’art de vivre,” where he resides and finds endless inspiration.
