Roche Bobois steps boldly into the art world once again to support the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum for the highly anticipated Mystical Symbolism: The Salon de la Rose+Croix in Paris, 1892 – 1897. The first-ever exhibition of the historic salons that brought late 19th-century radical and reactionary artists together will be on display from June 30th - October 4th, 2017.
“I am delighted by Roche Bobois’ presence at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, a highly regarded icon of international art and culture. It is an honor to support the Mystical Symbolism exhibition which sheds light on a captivating period of French cultural history. This collaboration exemplifies Roche Bobois’ dedication to cultural and artistic disciplines and their correlation with the creativity our brand embodies.” - Gilles Bonan, CEO of Roche Bobois.
Vivien Greene, Senior Curator, 19-and-Early 20th Century Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, worked with Roche Bobois to furnish the exhibition, emulating the atmosphere of the original Paris salons.
In between exploring the diverse and sometimes opposing concepts that contributed to Symbolism in the 1800’s, visitors will be able to relax on Roche Bobois’ luxurious PROFILE collection pieces, designed by Roberto Tapinassi & Maurizio Manzoni and ONDINE armchairs, designed by Raymond Cousquer, which bring the perfect finishing touch to the Mystical Symbolism exhibit.
