Joel Meyerowitz exhibition, Paris

Roche Bobois is presenting a monographic exhibition of Joel Meyerowitz in collaboration with Polka Galerie, a leading art gallery in documentary photography.

The American photography master Joel Meyerowitz started his career in New York in the 1960s. As a street photographer at one with the city, Meyerowitz makes his way through the hustle and bustle of urban life, his eyes ever on the alert. His complex compositions toy with the notions of imbalance and deframing, always seeming to hang by a thread.

The Tate Modern in London is currently showcasing his work.

This retrospective spans 42 works centered on four themes close to the artist’s heart: New York, his hometown; Massachusetts, with several pictures of Provincetown; Paris, which he discovered in the 1960s, and a selection of photographs taken during road trips.

View the exhibition at Roche Bobois, 52 avenue de la Grande Armée, Paris.
