YUNA YAGI: ROCHE BOBOIS GUEST ARTIST
A shared passion for architecture photography
After its "Inexterieur: Street Art Inside" exhibitions and various collaborations with the Palais de Tokyo, Villa Médicis and Arts Décoratifs museums, Roche Bobois continues its commitment to cultural and artistic creation.
During Photography Month in Paris, Roche Bobois is exhibiting the works of a young Japanese photographer, Yuna Yagi, in its showroom in Saint Germain des Prés. With this collaboration, the brand wanted to highlight the mixed influences of architecture and design.
An architect by training, Yuna Yagi explores her favorite themes: international urban landscapes and emblematic buildings of Modernism (Corbusier, Walter Gropius).
Her view of architecture shows us empty buildings with no evidence of human activity. Only the details emerge, showcasing a staircase, facade or roof.
"A building is not only composed of its materials and structure, but also by the shade, light, dust, air and smells that surround it", comments the artist.
Yuna Yagi seeks to create a graphic memory of these modern architectural temples. Each shot represents a truly sacred personal experience.
This exhibition showcases around forty original works by the artist for the first time in France until 10 December 2016 at the Roche Bobois showroom located at 207 Bd Saint Germain, Paris 7th.
