Design Jean Paul Gaultier

The French fashion designer and stylist likes to defy conventions, redesign classic styles, and play with oppositions. His skills, playful spirit, and sophisticated yet offbeat vision make him a world-renowned designer.
The re-release of the unique Ben Hur armchair, which was originally designed in 1993, is part of the complete collection created by Jean Paul Gaultier for Roche Bobois in 2010. Inspired by Roman chariots, it is a playful and mobile piece.

Jean Paul Gaultier

Described as « the enfant terrible of French fashion », Jean Paul Gaultier is renowned for shaking up the rulebook, reformulating classics and playing with contradictions. A true icon of the fashion world, he has reinvented prêt à porter and sent a quiver through Haute Couture with his wit, playfulness and creative talent. His outfits for performers such as Madonna are legendary. He has invented perfumes and is, quite simply, one of the best known and most loved fashion designers all around the world. His sophisticated and poetic collections for Roche Bobois marry fashion and design in perfect fusion. Portrait : Laura Lahj Projatelj
