DESIGNER'S DAYS 2016
An unmissable event in the Parisian design calendar, the D’Days festival will take place from 30th May to 5th June. The festival is a celebration of design in all its various disciplines, envisaged by artists, designers and leading furniture brands.
This annual event is a unique occasion to discover new artistic installations across the heart of the French capital.
This year’s theme is “R/Evolution”. Computer aided design is revolutionising manufacturing methods. The digitalisation of the world compels us to take another look at the current customs that lay at the very heart of the way we design.
Technological revolutions bring previous methods of manufacture into question, both in terms of the structure and external design, by giving us the opportunity to enhance materials at each stage of transformation. Past, present & future are the fundamentals which define the development of design practices over time and how they can evolve, transmute, mutate.
For Roche Bobois, Elizabeth Leriche imagines this scenography around structures draped in multiple layers… She opposes, juxtaposes and decomposes previous conventions to bring design methods up to date with present technologies, so they, in turn, better adapt to the future…
