French‑Portuguese designer and artistic director Toni Grilo was born in Nancy in 1979. After graduating from the École Boulle in Paris in 2001, he moved to Lisbon, where he reconnected with his roots and discovered a vibrant industrial and artisanal landscape that fueled his passion for technical craftsmanship and material experimentation. After several collaborations, he chose to settle permanently in Portugal. In 2005, he co‑founded Objection with designer Elder Monteiro, and in 2008, he launched his own studio specializing in industrial design, furniture, and scenography. Now based in Porto, he oversees the artistic direction of several international brands, including Riluc, Haymann, Blackcork, and the century‑old silversmith Topázio.
