Dining by Design 2016
The 19th edition of Dining by Design, organized by Design Industries Foundation Fighting against AIDS (a charity which works towards fighting AIDS) has just taken place in New York.
Each year, this large-scale fundraising event takes place over 5 days, making the most out of the innovative spirits and savoir faire of influential people in the Design world (including designers, manufacturers and artists.) This year, the internationally renowned talents worked together on the theme: water in its three forms: solid, liquid and gas. They were successful in creating a series of “dining experiences,” around which a number of exclusive events were arranged over the 5 days.
For the 3rd consecutive year, Roche Bobois was delighted to take part in the installation of the event. They collaborated with the LAS studio of the Rockwell Group (an innovation studio) to stage a spectacular setting.
Roche Bobois set up the Aqua table, by Fabrice Berrux, for the occasion, whose marble base resembles a water droplet which has been frozen in time. The table was placed over the Seraphinite rug and surrounded by Marilyn chairs and Marble lights. Interactive projections were also set up to create an ‘aquatic’ and light-filled atmosphere.
Overall, this year’s Dining by Design event helped the charity DIFFA raise almost $ 800,000.
