Design Eugeni Quitllet
PULP is the first collaboration between Catalan designer Eugeni Quitllet and Roche Bobois: a collection of tables, chairs and armchairs with a biomorphic aesthetic that eschews straight lines and is complemented by refined finishes.
Each table leg resembles a glossy, malleable material that extends a tentacle to the table top without touching it. The top is also designed to resemble a cell that has been sliced open horizontally. It is clad in Fenix® veneer in the same color with a matte finish, which guarantees multifunctional use.
Inspired by the living world, the collection draws on the dissociation of elements: the designer imagined each piece as a cluster of molecules!
In terms of materials, PULP presents two sides of the same story:
( in glossy lacquer, it conjures up malleable shapes. Creamy white, Jaipur burgundy or elegant black: each color evokes a the idea of luxurious materials.
- in FSC ™ certified* ash wood with a flamed veneer, it showcases the idea of driftwood being smoothed and polished over time.
The chairs play on the same idea: seat, back and armrests appear to have formed through cell division, as in a growing body. Building on this theme, the seat seems to float above the tapered, Scandinavian-style leg.
...
Dining armchair with structure in stained or lacquered ash wood, padded shell in plywood with metallic reinforcement, upholstered in fabric, leather, or leather-like fabric.
