Dai Sugasawa is a passionate, jack-of-all-trades Japanese designer. Since setting up his studio in Paris in 2010 and his ongoing collaboration with the internationally recognized and acclaimed designer Philippe Starck, he has worked on countless projects, ranging from perfume bottles to the world of the bathroom, fashion accessories, tableware and even high-tech products. But it is without a doubt the world of furniture his true field of predilection. Always seeking the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics, it was only natural that Dai Sugasawa teamed up with Roche Bobois to deliver sensitive, characterful creations: the Lan and Niwa cocktail tables collection. He draws his creativity both from the world of nature and from the inexhaustible source of inspiration offered by the fusion of his Japanese culture with that of the country of the “art of living” where he lives, France.
