A strong commitment

A pioneer in eco-design within the furniture industry, Roche Bobois has been committed since 2006 to a sustainable and collaborative innovation approach, involving every stakeholder in the design, development, and manufacturing chain.

The brand has set clear goals: +20% new eco-designed products and sustainably sourced wood each year, with the ambition of reaching 100% by the end of 2025. With the constant renewal of our collections, this approach will ultimately apply to more than 2,000 products—our entire range.

A concrete evaluation tool: ECO8

In partnership with the FCBA technological institute (Forêt Cellulose Bois-construction Ameublement), Roche Bobois developed its own environmental assessment methodology: the ECO8 tool.

ECO8 measures a product’s level of eco-design based on 8 criteria covering the four key stages of its life cycle: material selection, manufacturing, use, and recyclability.

Products scoring 3 or higher are considered eco-designed. They are identified on our website and in our catalogs with the dedicated “Eco-Conceived” logo.
