Roche Bobois partnered with Architrave P.C. to furnish the newly opened Moongate Café at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, D.C., located in the entrance pavilion of the museum’s east building.
America’s first national art museum, part of the historic Smithsonian Institution founded in 1855, and recognized for the world’s most important collections of Asian Art, the institution is one of the most globally influential cultural centers.
Inspired by Asian traditions and cuisine, the Moongate Café integrates Roche Bobois pieces including the Edito armchairs designed by Sacha Lakic and the iconic Mah Jong sofa designed by Hans Hopfer dressed in exclusive fabrics by Kenzo Takada, whose Japanese design influences blend seamlessly with the space’s aesthetic. This initiative reflects the brand’s ongoing commitment to cultural and artistic collaborations.
